UNI.MAC. Srl was founded in the early 90s in Montecchio Emilia (RE) – a well-known area for many high tech industries, which are specialised in beverage and food sector – by a group of engineers with a long experience in packaging. At the beginning this company produced palletising and de palletising systems.

In 1999 the desire of growing its range products and consolidating its presence in food sector drove UNI.MAC to acquire the Gherri Gino Srl company (founded in 1936), which were an important producer of rinsers, fillers and cappers for the food sector too.

In 2008 the Gherri Gino company was incorporated into UNI.MAC: UNIMAC-GHERRI Srl. was born. From now on each activity was centralized in the Montecchio Emilia headquarters (20 km from Parma, 16 km from Reggio Emilia). In 2013 the establishment was grown larger and in 2016 new and more modern offices were built.

In 2017 UNIMAC-GHERRI was acquired by the AROL group - born from the merging of the Italian AROL of Canelli (Piedmont), founded in 1978, and FT SYSTEM founded in 1998 in Alseno (Emilia Romagna) – the global point of reference in the design, manufacture and distribution of capping equipment, feeding and cap orientation machines and control & inspection systems for the whole bottling and packaging process, both in line and in the laboratory.
